Cadillac Calais

Not long ago, I posted some photos of a Cadillac Calais I found on the east side. I wrote about how you don’t see many of them around because they weren’t a flagship model for Cadillac.

Lo and behold, I found another one a few days later. I discovered this model during my holiday break from work while out documenting Detroit’s various ethnic halls. As you can see, it has car parts stacked on top of it.

When I first got a camera, the first lens I wanted to buy was a super-wide. I thought the field of view was so neat—you could capture everything from a scene in one image.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve fallen in love with longer lenses and telephoto zooms. There’s something neat about isolating the subject of the photograph you’re shooting that I dig. It’s beneficial for documenting ornate features on historic structures; plus, it’s handy when a classic car is far away and caged behind barbed wire fencing, too.

I miss the snow already. Hopefully, we’ll get more soon!
